La Sociedad Guajira de Antropología (SGA & Company) es una asociación civil sin fines de lucro y legalmente constituida en Riohacha (Capital del Departamento de La Guajira) como parte de la sociedad civil del Gran Caribe. Su principal objetivo es el fomento, la realización, la publicación y la divulgación de investigaciones antropológicas, arqueológicas, históricas en el Departamento de La Guajira (República de Colombia) y sus fronteras. La compañía también trabaja con un enfoque de antropología aplicada, asesorando en los derechos y en la formulación de proyectos a grupos étnicos, y al mismo tiempo prestando asesoría científica en el diseño y ejecución de estudios de impacto cultural, histórico y antropológico. La diversidad y la inclusión refleja nuestro núcleo de valores organizacionales. En lo académico, la SGA funciona como un grupo autónomo en forma de compañía privada de investigación que busca realizar un trabajo (con fuentes etnográficas -field work research-, históricas y arqueológicas) de carácter eminentemente académico -no político, ideológico o gubernamental-, dirigido a comprender las relaciones entre grupos étnicos y el desarrollo fronterizo regional de La Guajira desde una perspectiva “hacía abajo”, es decir, hacía la población local y regional.

The SGA & Company is a non-profit civil association and legally constituted in Riohacha (Capital of the Department of La Guajira) within the framework of the civil society of the Greater Caribbean. Its main objective is the promotion, realization, publication and dissemination of anthropological, archaeological and historical research in the Department of La Guajira (Republic of Colombia). The company also works with an applied anthropology approach, advising on the rights and formulation of projects for ethnic groups, and at the same time providing scientific advice on the design and execution of cultural, historical and anthropological impact studies. Diversity and inclusion reflects our core organizational values. Academically, the SGA functions as an autonomous group in the form of a private research company that seeks to carry out work (with ethnographic sources -field work research-, historical and archaeological) of an eminently academic nature -not political, ideological or governmental-, aimed at understanding the relations between ethnic groups and the regional border development of La Guajira from a "downward" perspective, that is, toward the local and regional population.
